Needs Assessment

The foundation of all NCME activities is a comprehensive needs assessment. In fact, NCME has received notice of “exemplary compliance” from the ACCME for the way we conduct needs assessments. Why? Because NCME is very successful in finding physician information gaps using multiple sources for establishing need, including:

• Review of the literature
• Medical advisory board assessments, comments, surveys, and recommendations
• AAFP profiles and surveys
• Lay press reports
• Surveys of NCME hospital subscribers
• Surveys of specialty audiences
• Participant data including personal practice profiles and comments
• Government disease state databases
