THE NETWORK FOR CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION
LAUNCHES NCME TV™

August 15, 2007, Secaucus, NJ. NCME President Paul Gersh announced today that the NCME Hospital Subscription Network has taken the next step in its evolution by becoming an online service. The new service is called NCME TV™. Since 1965, the NCME network has been providing CME activities to hospitals on film, videotape, and most recently DVD. According to Mr. Gersh, "the technology for delivering high-quality video programs over a secure Internet connection has finally reached a point where online viewing is a convenient, impactful way for physicians to keep up to date with new developments in medicine and earn CME credit. NCME TV™ is a means of bringing the nation's leading experts to academic, VA, and community hospitals across the country." The secure, online service will only be available to staff and attending physicians at subscribing hospitals. A free 30-day trial will be offered to all institutions to introduce the new service.

NCME TV™ is a series of professionally-produced CME activities that provide staff and attending physicians with secure access to CME topics you won't find anywhere else. The programs cover important topics that are often passed over by other CME providers, including masters lectures on critical topics in medicine in various disease states; state-mandated topics such as HIV/AIDS management, domestic violence, and pain management; hospital quality, performance, and credentialing issues — including programs to help meet JCAHO requirements, and late-breaking "hot topics" such as avian influenza and hospital preparedness for bioterrorism.

The new service also includes a search feature to access past programming. Moreover, the new platform allows for future service enhancements, such as downloadable podcasts, ancillary printed documents, and periodic live events.
