SURVIVE™ Distinguished Lectures

The following 1 hour CME lectures, now being offered to hospitals nationwide:

1. Reperfusion Strategies in Patients With STEMI
2. STEMI Management: An Emergency Department Perspective

SURVIVE™ CME/CE Teleconferences
Reperfusion Strategies in Patients With STEMI

Program Description
Reperfusion strategies with either fibrinolytics or percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) should be considered for every patient having symptoms of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). In this live, interactive teleconference series, experts from the SURVIVE Scientific Council discuss critical decisions in the care of patients with STEMI. Topics include when to choose fibrinolysis or PCI, comparative features of approved fibrinolytic agents, the use of transfer protocols at hospitals without catheterization laboratories, results from trials on combined mechanical and pharmacologic reperfusion, and adjunctive treatment with thienopyridines, glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitors, or low molecular weight heparin depending on the primary reperfusion strategy used. Practical advice for implementing the current ACC/AHA STEMI guidelines in the hospital and an opportunity to "ask the experts" provide a comprehensive learning experience.

Learning Objectives
After taking part in this activity, participants should be better able to:

Intended Audience
